Today is the first day of the 2025 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival! Looking back just a year ago, the Kehoe-France Jazz Ambassadors, under the direction of Michael Hotstream, followed New Orleans’ own, and rising star, River Eckert at the Kids’ Tent. The Ambassadors performed classics including “Big Chief”, “Do Whatcha Wanna” and “Iko, Iko”. Later in the afternoon several students were even stopped and praised by random festival goers! One humorous interaction of note between a a food vendor and student Willam Fernandez went along these lines… Vendor: “So you’re enjoying the fest for the first time eh?”…William: “well yeah, it’s great... I just played drums and closed out the Kids Tent”.
