Hurricane Ida Update: September 2, 2021
As you know, our facilities manager was on campus with several restoration companies to assess the damages.
We have begun our initial assessments and have sustained roof, tree and some infrastructure damage. Water was a factor in some classrooms and common areas.
Our first stage in repairing and rebuilding has begun. We have secured the services of a restoration company. We will be removing trees, fencing and roof debris. A new chain link fence will be erected around the perimeter of the school, roofs will be tarped and tress removed.
After this initial stage, we will reassess and continue to move forward to restore our campus.
Our goal is to safely return to in-person learning as soon as possible. We are excited about connecting with our families early next week and are working to restart virtual learning to provide an alternative for families as we beging campus repairs.
We have been so happy to hear from our families that have responded to our survey and want you to know we are thinking of you!
We will rise stronger with the support of our amazing KFS community and our partnership with ISP.
Stay safe and stay well!
